In 2000, 40% of the kids of the big slum Gandhi Nagar were solarized. In 2015, it is 90% of these kids. Since many years, kids of the slum succed brillantly and undertake graduate studies in civil engineering, computer science, accounting and paramedic fields. Those students lead today the tutoring for the youngest ones.

In 2000, it was common to hear “The studies are not for me. My father drives rickshaws and I’m from a poor family in the slum...”. We have proved the opposite. For 15 years our speech is the same: “Study, get diplomas et the day you will work in a bank, no one will ask you where your come from. Fathers and Mothers, let your daughters study, their diploma will be their dowry”, still a common practice in the traditional families.
