Created in 2007, the kindergarten is there to solve two problems: to enable isolated mothers, often the poorest, to easily find a job by having their kids in a safe place. It especially allows elder brothers and sisters to go to school instead of staying at home to baby-sit their younger siblings. |
The kindergarten is daily open 9am to 4pm and receives 40 children aged 2 to 4 years. Those are supervised by professional educators and childminders (beneficiaries of family support program). The children get a dietary supplement in the morning (spiruline) and a balanced meal for the lunch. |
Educational activities are offered to them throughout the day, focusing on the basic english learning because many of these children will eventually be enrolled in English medium schools as part of our education support. |
